2013–14 Binghamton Senators season : ウィキペディア英語版 | 2013–14 Binghamton Senators season
The 2013–14 Binghamton Senators season is the franchise's 12th season in the American Hockey League, which began on October 5, 2013. ==Off-season== The Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena had undergone $2.5 million in renovations prior to the start of the Binghamton Senators season, including replaced stadium seats, a new LED lighting system, new exterior stairways and renovated concession stands, a new outdoor marquee display. During the off season, Tim Marks was hired as the Senators' new video coach, replacing Matt Meacham, who was hired by the Chicago Blackhawks. Marks had been video coach and assistant for Princeton University's men's hockey team for the previous two seasons. One-year contract extension were also approved for Binghamton head coach Luke Richardson and assistant coach Steve Stirling. Richardson coached development camp in July for Binghamton's major league affiliate, the Ottawa Senators, and also coached the organization's rookie tournament in September, which they won 3–0. The Senators saw several departures during the off-season, including forwards Pat Cannone, Louie Caporusso, Jack Downing, Dustin Gazley, Hugh Jessiman and Jakob Silfverberg; defensemen André Benoit and Brett Lebda, and goaltender Marc Cheverie Several players also joined the Ottawa Senators including Stéphane Da Costa, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, and Buddy Robinson. Nevertheless, Binghamton retained much of their prior year's roster heading into the 2013–14 season. The team re-signed forwards Mike Hoffman, Corey Cowick and David Dziurzynski, as well as goalie Nathan Lawson, and defenseman and team captain Mark Borowiecki. Rookies Cody Ceci, Matthew Puempel, Troy Rutkowski and Michael Sdao began their first full seasons with the team. Binghamton received two surprise assignments from the Ottawa Senators in centers Jim O'Brien and Mika Zibanejad.〔 Both had previously played for Binghamton, but O'Brien spent the entire prior season in Ottawa,〔 and Zibanejad had been Ottawa's fourth-highest scorer last year. Ottawa general manager Bryan Murray said Zibanejad did not exert himself during training season while others did.〔 The Binghamton Senators did not have their own typical training camp during the off-season, but instead spent a month training and practicing with Ottawa. As a result, they did not play any preseason games, and did not go through their first on-ice practice as a team at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena until October 1. During practices, Richardson's goal was to spend as little time as possible in the defensive zone, and to improve the team's power play, which ranked 27th out of 30 the prior season at 13.6 percent.
